Location: Rural community, Tres Isletas, Province of Chaco.
Problem: There are plans to build six new cisterns in a rural area of the town of Maipú, Province of Chaco, to provide access to safe water for more than 90 people. The nearest water sources are usually more than one kilometer from the home, which makes it very difficult for them to obtain water.
Solution: Build six cisterns that accumulate up to 16,000 liters of rainwater to supply rural families. This model has the advantages of ensuring access to water for human consumption and promoting local labor. It is a work that takes a week of hard work. To begin with, the families must dig the well where the cistern will be built following the indications of the professionals. Then, contracted professionals will follow with the help of at least one family member.
